FH Estimators is seeking a motivated Trainee Estimation Engineer to join our team. This entry-level role is ideal for fresh graduates with degrees in Civil Engineering, Urban Engineering, or Architecture who are eager to build a career specializing in commercial flooring estimation. The successful candidate will work closely with senior estimators to develop essential skills in construction estimation and quantity takeoff. Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to interpret construction and architectural drawings are vital for success in this role. While prior professional experience is not required, candidates with academic familiarity with estimation concepts and construction documents will have an advantage. The Trainee Estimation Engineer will primarily operate within the Rawalpindi or Islamabad locations. The role involves learning and applying various estimation techniques, utilizing Microsoft Excel extensively, and progressively mastering estimation software to support accurate project cost assessments. This position demands a responsible, punctual individual capable of meeting deadlines while contributing effectively within a professional team setting. Good verbal and written English communication skills and a willingness to learn and follow guidance from senior staff members are essential to thrive in this supportive, growth-oriented environment.
Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret construction drawings, floor plans, and architectural plans to extract relevant quantity information.
  • Perform quantity takeoff for commercial flooring projects using manual methods and digital tools.
  • Use Microsoft Excel to organize data, apply formulas, and create visualizations to support estimation accuracy.
  • Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates based on measurements, material specifications, and construction requirements.
  • Collaborate with senior estimators to understand project scopes, clarify drawings, and refine estimation methods.
  • Learn to use estimation and takeoff software to enhance efficiency and precision in calculations.
  • Maintain accurate records of measurements, calculations, and assumptions used during the estimation process.
  • Ensure all estimates adhere to company standards and client expectations while meeting assigned deadlines.
  • Contribute to team meetings and update supervisors on estimation progress and any challenges encountered.
  • Continuously develop technical skills and knowledge of construction materials, building components, and industry best practices.
  • Follow organizational protocols and safety guidelines while managing digital and physical estimation documents.
  • Demonstrate responsibility in task completion, punctuality, and communication with team members.
  • Adapt to feedback from senior estimators and incorporate suggestions to improve estimation accuracy.
  • Support the preparation of reports and presentations summarizing estimation findings and projections.
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to build technical and professional competencies required for growth.
