CAB International (Regional Bioscience Centre Pakistan) is seeking motivated Field Facilitators to support the implementation of a donor-funded project focused on Better Cotton in Fortabbas, District Bahawalnagar, Punjab. The successful candidates will play a vital role in applying the Better Cotton Standard System (BCSS) and promoting Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) among cotton farmers. This position involves working closely with local farmers to enhance cotton production sustainability, build capacity, and ensure compliance with project standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed training implementation plans for farmers on BCSS and GAP specific to cotton cultivation. Conduct surveys to identify potential cotton farmers and update records of existing growers. Register farmers and farm workers, both male and female, and facilitate their capacity building on best practices and BCSS criteria. Support farmers in forming and registering producer organizations. Carry out internal assessments of registered cotton growers to ensure adherence to standards. Collect and verify seed cotton data, including quantities available and sold, and report findings to Producer Unit Managers. Prepare fortnightly progress and technical reports on cotton growers. Collect and submit Result Indicator Data (RI) within designated timelines. Complete any additional assignments as directed by the line manager. Maintain effective communication and interpersonal relationships, demonstrating self-motivation and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Agriculture, B.Sc. in Botany or Zoology, or a related field such as BS/BA. Candidates with formal education and experience in agriculture will be given preference. Knowledge of Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) production principles and criteria is essential. A strong understanding of cotton production technology and sustainability challenges is required.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
Applicants with prior experience in cotton production and familiarity with BCSS will be favored. Possession of a motorbike is considered an advantage due to the nature of fieldwork. The role demands strong organizational skills, creativity in problem-solving, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Candidates should be honest, dedicated, socially adept, motivated, disciplined, and capable of managing work schedules to meet deadlines.

This position reports directly to the Producer Unit Manager. There are five vacancies available on a six-month contract basis, extendable subject to performance, with a three-month probation period. Recruitment will be conducted through a third-party contracting firm. The job location is Fortabbas, Punjab.
