Cybernet, a leading telecommunications company under the Lakson Group, operates a nationwide fiber-optic network delivering broadband, FTTH, enterprise, and carrier services across Pakistan. As a Field Technician, you will be essential in ensuring seamless connectivity by installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting fiber-optic infrastructure and customer premises equipment. This role involves hands-on work with GPON/FTTH technology, responding to service issues, and maintaining high standards of service quality and customer satisfaction across multiple cities nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform installation, activation, testing, and maintenance of fiber-optic connectivity at customer locations.
- Install and configure access equipment such as Optical Network Terminals (ONTs), Access Points (APs), and HD Boxes.
- Conduct last-mile fiber-optic installation and maintenance activities to ensure network integrity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity and service-related complaints on-site promptly.
- Work extensively with GPON/FTTH technology and associated access network equipment.
- Carry out optical power and connectivity tests to detect faults and service issues.
- Identify, isolate, and repair fiber or network faults within the assigned service area.
- Ensure timely restoration of disrupted services while maintaining quality standards.
- Perform preventive maintenance on access infrastructure and customer-end devices.
- Properly use and maintain assigned tools, testing, and safety equipment.
- Keep accurate records of installations, complaints, troubleshooting steps, and completed tasks.
- Coordinate with supervisors, Network Operations Center (NOC), customer support, and technical teams for efficient issue resolution.
- Adhere strictly to company technical, safety, quality, and operational procedures.
- Maintain professional communication and deliver a positive customer experience during field visits.
- Meet assigned targets related to productivity, quality, turnaround time, and service restoration.

Required Qualifications

- Intermediate or Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) in Telecommunication, Electrical, Electronics, or a related technical field.
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in field operations or telecommunications is preferred; fresh candidates with appropriate technical education will also be considered.
- Basic understanding of FTTH, fiber optics, GPON, and access network technologies.
- Familiarity with fiber and network testing tools is advantageous.
- Ability to perform technical troubleshooting at customer premises effectively.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Willingness and ability to work outdoors and travel within the assigned service area.
- Comfortable working in a field-based environment independently or as part of a team.
- Demonstrates responsibility, punctuality, and operational discipline.
- Flexibility to work during service disruptions or emergency situations, including outside regular hours.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

- Hands-on experience with GPON/FTTH systems and fiber-optic networks.
- Proficiency in using Optical Power Meters, PON Meters, and OTDR equipment.
- Knowledge of ONT/ONU installation and fiber termination techniques.
- Skilled in access network troubleshooting and last-mile fiber connectivity.
- Understanding of fiber distribution systems and network fault isolation.
