Finance Officer

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager Finance to join a leading packaging company based in Karachi. The role requires hands-on involvement in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and maintaining accurate financial records. The position is onsite, located in the industrial area of Karachi, with working hours from Monday to Saturday, 9 AM to 6 PM. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with over six years of experience to contribute to a dynamic organization and work closely with various internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions in compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
- Update and maintain payroll records by reviewing and approving changes related to job titles, departments, and payment structures.
- Maintain proper records of Provident Fund and Gratuity Fund according to regulations and organize regular validation meetings.
- Handle personal income tax return tasks for individual assessees.
- Submit statements related to salary payments under section 108 and employee return filings under section 108A to the relevant tax authorities.
- Review the accuracy of TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) and VDS (Value Deducted at Source) deductions.
- Issue certificates for tax deductions and submit withholding tax returns under section 75A to tax circles.
- Assist with company tax returns and tax appeal processes.
- Monitor and verify monthly Mushak 9.1 returns.
- Support transfer pricing audit activities and credit rating tasks.
- Prepare and submit Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) reports to the bank.
- Manage dividend repatriation and related compliance tasks.
- Submit returns to the Registrar Joint Stock Companies (RJSC) and handle Schedule X and FORM XII related filings.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and international customer account reconciliations.
- Prepare cash flow statements and forecasts to support financial planning.
- Compile monthly and annual financial position reports.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders including banks, auditors, and tax authorities.
- Participate in yearly budget preparation and related financial planning activities.
- Extract and input data from various sources into accounting systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Oversee customer and supplier settlements and resolve ledger settlement issues within Microsoft Dynamics Axapta.

Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in finance and accounting roles.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
- Experience with payroll management, tax filing, and statutory compliance.
- Proficiency in bank reconciliation, cash flow management, and financial statement preparation.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics Axapta or similar ERP systems is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple financial tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders such as auditors, banks, and tax authorities.
