Finance Operations Specialist

At Lean Industries, a division of Contour, we specialize in consumer-originated dispute transactions, offering expertise in both card and non-card payments. We assist financial institutions in managing disputes efficiently and confidently. We are currently looking for a Finance Operations Specialist who is proactive, detail-oriented, and self-driven to manage General & Administrative (G&A) finance operations. This role involves overseeing billable hours, Statement of Work (SOW) tracking, invoice processing, and related administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will act as a vital link between Finance and other business units, demonstrating executive presence, independent problem-solving skills, and the ability to drive accountability across teams without daily supervision.

Key Responsibilities

SOW & Contract Tracking Management
- Manage the full lifecycle of Statements of Work (SOWs), Master Service Agreements (MSAs), and vendor contracts.
- Monitor SOW caps, burn rates, expiration dates, and key milestones to ensure compliance with scope and budget.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to align SOW terms with financial commitments.

Time Tracking & Billable Hours Oversight
- Track and reconcile billable hours, time logs, and consultant/vendor submissions against budgets and deliverables.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies, unbilled hours, or budget overruns proactively.
- Establish operational routines for time submission and approval across departments.

Invoice Management & Administrative Follow-Through
- Manage end-to-end invoice processing for G&A categories, ensuring accuracy against approved SOWs and verified time logs.
- Facilitate invoice authorization, expense coding, and collaborate with Accounts Payable for timely payments.
- Maintain thorough documentation, audit trails, and organized records for all financial workflows.

Cross-Functional Accountability & Stakeholder Management
- Develop strong working relationships with internal teams, department leaders, and external vendors.
- Enforce timely submission of inputs, timesheets, SOW approvals, and hold stakeholders accountable to deadlines.
- Serve as the primary contact for G&A finance operations, providing updates and escalating risks when necessary.

Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience in finance operations, project operations, or corporate finance administration.
- Proven expertise in managing SOWs, billable hours, timesheets, and invoice reconciliation.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and take full ownership of processes without daily supervision.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence to drive accountability across teams and senior leadership.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills for tracking operational metrics and maintaining compliance.
- Proficiency with ERP/Finance systems such as Workday, NetSuite, or QuickBooks, along with advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
