We are looking for a highly experienced Financial Controller to lead the finance and accounting functions of a diverse, multi-entity organization. This role involves developing and executing financial strategy, managing month-end and year-end closures, and ensuring robust financial controls. The successful candidate will mentor a growing finance team, drive ERP system optimization and automation, and collaborate closely with executive leadership to support strategic growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
Lead all aspects of financial reporting, including month-end and year-end close processes, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting. Ensure accurate accounting practices, strong financial controls, and compliance across multiple entities. Consolidate financial results from various business units such as retail, fuel retail, convenience stores, quick-service restaurants, food, financing, metal recycling, and investments. Provide insightful financial analysis and strategic recommendations to support executive decision-making. Manage relationships with external auditors, CPAs, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities.
Cash Flow & Treasury
Oversee cash flow management, liquidity, working capital, and treasury operations. Supervise accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, payments, collections, and financing activities. Prepare reliable cash flow forecasts to support operational and strategic needs.
Internal Controls & Compliance
Develop and maintain accounting policies, standard operating procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, audit requirements, and statutory obligations. Monitor financial risks and implement measures to protect financial data integrity.
Process Improvement & Systems
Lead initiatives to optimize ERP systems, automate processes, standardize workflows, and enhance financial reporting. Improve dashboards and business intelligence capabilities to provide timely and accurate financial insights. Collaborate with IT teams to strengthen system integration and data accuracy.
Leadership & Business Partnership
Provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities for the finance team while fostering accountability and high performance. Work closely with Operations, HR, Procurement, and senior management to support business growth objectives. Build scalable finance and accounting processes that accommodate the complexities of a multi-entity organization.
Required Qualifications
- ACCA, CMA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- 15 to 20 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 8 years in a leadership role such as Head of Department or Financial Controller.
- Strong expertise in accounting, financial reporting, consolidation, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, and working capital management.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as PDI, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
- Deep knowledge of financial controls, audits, tax compliance, and process improvement methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
