Summary:

The responsibility of an import executive is to look after logistics process very right after procurement of goods, He/She is responsible for handling L/C opening, payment transfers, freight forwarding, customs clearance of goods, transportation and warehousing.

Primary Responsibilities

Operational work:

· Coordination with procurement department/immediate head regarding future planning about imports.

· Regular tracking of booked shipments.

· Close coordination with clearing agent for fast customs clearance process.

· In contact with transporters.

· Managing warehouse space with accordance to new stock.

· Manage business account payments.

· Generate cost comparison report and submit to management on weekly bases..

Documentation:

· Finalizing Performa invoice, LC maters (If required).

· Thoroughly checking drafts of import documents including BL/AWB, Commercial invoice, P/L, FTA and certificate of origin etc.

· Warehousing log book management.

· All other documentation to freight as assigned by immediate head.

Liaison:

· Coordination with suppliers regarding payments, anticipated orders ,repair & returns and others

· Coordination with clearing agent to avoid extra cost and demurrages /container rents

· Coordination with finance department for through flow of bills.

· Vigilant feedback to internal team.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Experience in freight forwarding & customs clearance industry especially in operation. Knowledge of customs tariff, SROs, income tax schedules ,sales tax schedules ,import policy, CGOs other shipping practices is very mandatory for precise execution of said job.
  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to deal with different Govt institutions and simultaneously manages several projects. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
  • Above is normally acquired through a combination of the completion of a Bachelors in supply chain degree with 2-3 years’ experience.
