Fish Monger / Fish Counter Specialist

Sara Cash & Carry is seeking an experienced and skilled Fish Monger to oversee daily operations at the fish counter. The role involves cleaning, cutting, filleting, and displaying various fish varieties while ensuring freshness, quality, and hygiene standards are consistently met. The ideal candidate will manage stock handling, maintain attractive product displays, and deliver excellent customer service in line with professional supermarket practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Clean, cut, scale, and fillet different types of fish according to customer requirements.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and preservation of seafood under chilled conditions.
- Maintain fish freshness, quality, hygiene, and food safety standards at all times.
- Arrange appealing fish counter displays with accurate product identification and pricing.
- Monitor stock availability, minimize wastage and spoilage, and implement product rotation using FIFO principles.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the fish counter, tools, equipment, and work area.
- Follow company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for receiving, weighing, handling, and displaying seafood.
- Report damaged, expired, or low-quality stock promptly to minimize product wastage.
- Provide professional customer service, assisting customers with fish selection and preparation advice.
- Coordinate with the Fresh Food Manager regarding stock replenishment, daily sales, and operational issues.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in fish handling and fish counter operations.
- Strong knowledge of fish varieties, cutting techniques, filleting, freshness identification, and seafood preservation.
- Practical understanding of food safety, personal hygiene, and cold-chain handling.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced supermarket environment.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Experience working with well-known supermarket chains such as Metro, Al-Fatah, Imtiaz, Carrefour, or similar establishments is highly preferred.
- Competitive pay ranging from Rs30,000 to Rs80,000 per hour.
- This is an in-person role requiring presence at the store location.
