Flexo Plate Maker (Flexible Packaging)

Siflex, located in Korangi Creek, Karachi, is seeking a skilled Flexo Plate Maker to join their flexible packaging production team on a full-time, on-site basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality flexographic printing plates that adhere to precise print specifications and strict deadlines. This role demands attention to detail and collaboration with various departments to ensure flawless plate production and mounting.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and produce photopolymer flexo plates using approved artwork and digital files.
- Operate plate-making machinery, including exposure units, washout units, dryers, and light finishing equipment.
- Inspect plate thickness, relief depth, and image quality before plates are sent to press.
- Accurately mount plates on sleeves or cylinders, ensuring correct registration for printing.
- Maintain chemicals, solvents, and equipment used in plate-making, following daily cleaning and maintenance routines.
- Coordinate closely with prepress, design, and printing teams to troubleshoot and resolve any plate-related issues.
- Keep detailed records of plates, job orders, and inventory, ensuring proper storage of plates.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and quality standards within the plate room environment.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years’ experience in flexo plate making, preferably within flexible packaging materials such as BOPP, PET, PE, and laminates.
- Solid understanding of photopolymer plates, including exposure and washout times, as well as plate curing processes.
- Knowledge of printing concepts such as dot gain, screen ruling, and registration accuracy.
- Ability to interpret job specifications and artwork files accurately.
- Basic knowledge of plate mounting techniques is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines consistently.
- Educational background of Diploma or Matric or higher, ideally with a focus on printing or packaging.
