Fortinet Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network & Security Operations Engineer with 7 to 10 years of experience, specializing in Fortinet technologies. This is a fully remote, short-term contract opportunity lasting between 2 to 4 weeks. The role requires supporting network and security operations across Brazil (AMR), Kuala Lumpur, and EMEA time zones. Candidates must be available to work 8 hours per day and be ready to join immediately. The position is offered on an independent contractor or freelance basis.

Key Responsibilities
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot FortiGate firewalls to ensure optimal security and performance.
- Operate and maintain FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiOS, and FortiClient/EMS platforms.
- Manage firewall policies, NAT, VPNs (IPsec/SSL), and other security configurations.
- Handle routing protocols including BGP and OSPF to maintain network stability and efficiency.
- Oversee LAN/WAN environments, VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP configurations.
- Monitor security events, analyze logs, and provide support for incident response activities.
- Perform firewall upgrades, troubleshoot issues, and conduct security assessments.
- Support Fortinet SD-WAN deployments and maintain High Availability (HA) environments.

Required Qualifications
- 7 to 10 years of hands-on experience in network and security operations.
- Strong expertise with Fortinet products and technologies.
- Mandatory Fortinet certification: Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP) – Secure Networking.
- Excellent understanding of networking fundamentals, firewall administration, and security operations.
- Proficient in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Availability to work 8 hours daily throughout the entire 2 to 4 week contract period.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
