We are seeking a skilled Front-End Engineer to develop and deliver polished, reliable user experiences across our web platform and mobile application. You will work within a modern Next.js App Router codebase and collaborate closely with backend engineers to implement new features. This role involves building UI components, consuming internal APIs, and contributing to both web and React Native mobile applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain user interfaces using React 19 and Next.js 16 (App Router), ensuring clear separation between server and client components.
- Consume internal REST APIs with JSON and FormData, managing error handling, loading states, and server-driven state updates effectively.
- Design and implement AI-powered features with a focus on user experience, including latency management and review/edit workflows.
- Develop billing and checkout flows, handling credits and payments securely and efficiently.
- Contribute to the React Native (Expo) mobile app development.
- Write and maintain tests to ensure code quality, consistency, and health of the codebase.
- Collaborate with backend engineers on API contracts, including request/response formats, status codes, and data structures.
Required Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in React 19, including hooks, disciplined use of useMemo/useCallback, component composition, and controlled forms.
- Expertise in TypeScript with strict mode enabled, including generics, type narrowing, and a solid understanding of interfaces versus types.
- Experience with Next.js 16 App Router, including server vs client components, "use client" directives, file-based routing, route handlers, and managing loading and error states.
- Proficiency in Tailwind CSS v4, utilizing utility-first styling and arbitrary values.
- Solid experience consuming REST APIs using fetch with JSON and FormData, including robust error handling and managing optimistic versus server-driven updates.
- Understanding of client-side authentication and session flows, even if not directly responsible for auth implementation.
- Awareness of API security best practices, including never exposing secrets on the client side.
- Basic knowledge of database concepts, particularly MongoDB and Cosmos DB document storage and server-side settings persistence.
- Experience designing user experiences for AI-driven features.
- Working knowledge of React Native with Expo for mobile app development.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Familiarity with Jotai for state management and working within a Turborepo monorepo structure.
- Experience with Vitest for unit testing and Playwright for end-to-end testing.
- Knowledge of knip for dead-code detection.
- Experience designing payment or billing user experiences, including integrations with platforms like Authorize.Net or similar financial services.
- Familiarity with C# and .NET development.
- Experience with Azure deployment and cloud infrastructure.
Work Schedule and Environment
- Ability to work consistently during US business hours.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection with a backup option such as a mobile hotspot.
- Comfortable with asynchronous communication via platforms like Microsoft Teams and live collaboration through video calls.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
