Frontend 3D Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Frontend 3D Engineer to join our team and create highly interactive, browser-based 3D experiences for our DBS platform. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Three.js, React Three Fiber, Drei, and Next.js, focusing on interactive 3D visualization, real-time rendering, and performance optimization. This role involves close collaboration with backend and product teams to transform complex data and workflows into interactive, responsive, and visually accurate 3D experiences.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop interactive 3D visualization experiences for web applications.
- Build and maintain 3D interfaces using Three.js, React Three Fiber, and Drei.
- Develop frontend applications leveraging Next.js 14 and React.
- Implement interactive mesh manipulation features such as selection, transformation, highlighting, and user interactions.
- Create real-time visualization logic for various products.
- Integrate 3D visualization components with backend APIs and application workflows.
- Optimize browser-based 3D rendering to ensure high performance, responsiveness, and smooth user interaction.
- Manage 3D assets, including scene management, lighting, cameras, materials, and rendering pipelines.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks related to WebGL, rendering, memory usage, and complex 3D scenes.
- Collaborate effectively with designers, backend engineers, and product teams to deliver reliable and polished 3D features.

Required Qualifications
- 3 to 4 years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on frontend and 3D development.
- Over 3 years of experience working with WebGL, including hands-on expertise in Three.js and React Three Fiber.
- More than 3 years of experience with React.js and at least 2 years working with Next.js, preferably Next.js 14.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and React frameworks.
- Solid understanding of 3D concepts such as geometry, meshes, materials, cameras, lighting, animations, and rendering techniques.
- Proven experience building interactive 3D features, mesh manipulation, and real-time visualization within browser environments.
- Deep knowledge of browser-based 3D performance optimization and WebGL rendering.
- Familiarity with Drei and modern React Three Fiber development practices.
- Excellent debugging and problem-solving abilities.
