Full stack AI Engineer

Aidapt is seeking a Full Stack AI Engineer to join its AI Operations team based at the Karachi Hub. This full-time, onsite role involves building and shipping AI-powered automations that support real client operations across the MEA and APAC regions. The successful candidate will work closely with the engineering team to develop and maintain production-ready workflows using tools like n8n, ClickUp, WATI, and client systems. This position offers a unique opportunity to apply AI and automation in practical business environments, with potential for a permanent role based on performance.

Key Responsibilities
- Build and deploy client automations using n8n and similar low-code platforms, managing workflows from trigger to final action.
- Develop backend logic in JavaScript or Python, including custom functions, data transformations, and API integrations.
- Integrate various client systems such as ClickUp, Zoho, WATI, and Supabase through REST APIs and webhooks; create small APIs where connectors are unavailable.
- Incorporate AI components into workflows by selecting appropriate language models like Claude API and designing effective prompts.
- Debug and enhance workflows by implementing error handling and ensuring reliable production performance.
- Test workflows against real client scenarios and hand over completed projects cleanly to delivery leads.
- Document workflows comprehensively to facilitate maintenance and knowledge transfer among clients and team members.
- Participate in client calls and internal standups, maintain task logs in ClickUp, and proactively identify and communicate blockers.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field (completed or in final semester).
- Experience building at least one functional automation using n8n or comparable low-code tools such as Make or Zapier, with the ability to explain the process.
- Proficient in writing working code in JavaScript or Python and capable of explaining code functionality.
- Demonstrated experience developing REST APIs end-to-end, including route handling and database or data layer integration.
- Strong debugging skills using logs, breakpoints, or debuggers independently.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming concepts such as classes, inheritance, and interfaces, and ability to design logical folder and file structures for backend or frontend projects.
- Regular use of AI tools with the ability to select appropriate models based on task complexity.
- Availability to work full-time onsite at the Karachi Hub from the start date.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Hands-on experience with ClickUp, Zoho, or other work management or CRM platforms.
- Familiarity with WhatsApp Business API or chatbot flows via WATI or similar platforms.
- Experience working with Supabase or Postgres databases, including writing basic queries.
- Basic knowledge of Git workflows, including committing, branching, and pull requests.
- Prior use of Claude API, OpenAI API, or similar AI models in personal or academic projects.
- A public GitHub repository, portfolio, or demo showcasing end-to-end projects is highly desirable.
