Full-Stack Developer (Core PHP + Python + Shopify Apps)

We are seeking a versatile Full-Stack Developer with strong expertise in Core PHP, Shopify app development, and Python for AI integration. This role involves maintaining and enhancing a legacy Core PHP-based POS system, developing and supporting Shopify applications, and integrating AI-powered features using Python. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with legacy code, debugging complex issues, and delivering reliable, scalable solutions that blend maintenance with new development.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain and update a 6-year-old Core PHP POS system, working with legacy, unstructured, and compromised codebases.
- Debug, fix issues, and improve overall code stability and performance.
- Implement security enhancements including protection against SQL injection, CSRF, and XSS vulnerabilities.
- Optimize MySQL queries for better efficiency and handle database migrations as needed.
- Develop Python applications focused on AI integration, including building APIs to connect AI services with PHP and Shopify apps.
- Integrate AI models and third-party AI APIs to enable AI-driven automation and data processing.
- Test, debug, and optimize Python code to ensure high performance and reliability.
- Develop and maintain Shopify public and private apps, working extensively with Shopify Admin API, Storefront API, Webhooks, App Bridge, and OAuth.
- Add new features and enhancements to existing PHP-based Shopify apps, including API integrations and embedded app UI updates.
- Manage backend deployment processes on Linux/cPanel environments, ensuring a clean Git-based workflow and thorough documentation.

Required Qualifications

- Strong proficiency in Core PHP and Python programming languages.
- Experience debugging and maintaining legacy systems with unstructured code.
- Solid knowledge of MySQL, including query optimization and migrations.
- Ability to refactor code carefully without disrupting live systems.
- Hands-on experience in Shopify app development and working with Shopify APIs such as Admin API, Storefront API, Billing, and Webhooks.
- Skilled in REST API development and integration.
- Proficient in JavaScript and jQuery for frontend enhancements.
- Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git and GitHub.
- Minimum of one year of professional software development experience.
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a willingness to work on complex, legacy codebases.
