Magnero Agency is seeking a motivated Full-Stack Developer to join our team in Karachi on a full-time, on-site basis. In this role, you will contribute to building websites, web applications, plugins, and integrations for a diverse client base as well as internal products. Our projects primarily involve PHP and WordPress, but also include TypeScript web applications, APIs, Python tools, and third-party platform integrations. We value strong software engineering fundamentals, adaptability to different technologies, and a commitment to code quality. You will be expected to effectively use AI-assisted coding tools while maintaining ownership of the code you produce and review.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain web applications, WordPress websites, and plugins across backend, frontend, APIs, and third-party integrations.
- Understand and work with existing codebases to implement secure, maintainable, and sustainable changes.
- Utilize Git for version control, including meaningful commits, branching, merging, and pull request workflows.
- Participate in code reviews by providing and acting on constructive feedback.
- Test developed features thoroughly and communicate bugs, blockers, and technical risks proactively.
- Incorporate AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or Cursor to enhance productivity while critically reviewing their output.
- Communicate technical decisions, progress, and completed work clearly within the team.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Professional experience in software development with a solid understanding of web application architecture.
- Proficiency in at least one backend technology, preferably PHP.
- Competency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Good understanding of HTTP, REST APIs, databases, and client-server communication.
- Ability and willingness to learn unfamiliar tools and technologies and understand existing projects.
- Critical thinking skills to evaluate and take ownership of AI-generated code rather than relying on it blindly.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to proactively report progress, obstacles, and technical concerns.
- Intermediate English proficiency sufficient for understanding technical documentation and resources.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Experience in any of the following areas is advantageous but not mandatory:
- WordPress, WooCommerce, or WordPress plugin development.
- Familiarity with PHP Composer and the broader PHP ecosystem, including Bedrock-style setups.
- Experience with React, Next.js, Nuxt, Vue, or Node.js frameworks.
- Building APIs or automation tools using Python.
- Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Experience with code testing, code review processes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Linux, Docker, or local development environments.
