Full Stack Developer (Next.js + Node.js)

We are seeking a skilled Full Stack Developer to join STACKONN’s engineering team based in Lahore. In this role, you will be responsible for developing production-ready features from start to finish, working with Next.js/React for front-end development and Node.js for backend APIs. The position emphasizes performance, maintainability, and timely delivery. The work arrangement is hybrid, requiring three days in the Lahore office and two days remote.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain web features using Next.js/React, prioritizing user experience and performance.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs with Node.js, integrating third-party services such as payments, email, and maps.
- Model data effectively and write optimized queries, primarily using PostgreSQL, with MongoDB or Firebase as needed.
- Own the full lifecycle of features, including planning, coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
- Produce clean, readable code with robust error handling and comprehensive documentation.
- Collaborate closely with design and product teams to translate Figma designs into pixel-perfect user interfaces.
- Establish and enhance CI/CD pipelines, manage environments, and ensure smooth releases from staging to production.
- Quickly diagnose and resolve production issues through root cause analysis and implement measures to prevent regressions.
- Review pull requests and provide practical mentorship to junior developers.
- Maintain product security by managing authentication, permissions, data validation, and adhering to OWASP best practices.

Required Qualifications
- 4 to 5+ years of experience building and deploying web applications in production environments.
- Strong understanding of JavaScript and TypeScript fundamentals beyond syntax.
- Proven expertise with React and/or Next.js, including routing, server-side rendering (SSR), static site generation (SSG), data fetching, and performance optimization.
- Backend development experience with Node.js frameworks such as Express or Nest, following API design best practices.
- Proficiency with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL, including migrations and indexing strategies.
- Experience implementing authentication and authorization mechanisms like JWT, sessions, and role-based access control (RBAC).
- Comfortable with Git workflows, including branching, pull requests, code reviews, and writing meaningful commit messages.
- A strong testing mindset focused on meaningful unit and integration tests rather than superficial coverage.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical trade-offs and aligning stakeholders.
- Must be based in Lahore or able to work from the Lahore office and comfortable with a hybrid working model.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
