We are looking for a Lead Engineer to spearhead the design, development, and deployment of an enterprise-grade Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) platform combined with Vulnerability Management capabilities, enhanced by AI technologies. This role demands full ownership and a versatile skill set across the entire technology stack. The ideal candidate will make critical technical decisions to build a scalable, secure, and high-performance product that meets complex business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Frontend Development:
Develop responsive and user-friendly web interfaces using React, TypeScript, Next.js or Vite, alongside modern UI frameworks. You will create dashboards, workflow screens, data tables, charts, and forms with a strong emphasis on usability and performance. Ensuring secure API integration with backend services is essential. You will also build reusable component libraries to maintain UI consistency and optimize performance, especially when handling large datasets such as findings, assets, policies, and risks.
Backend Development:
Design and implement scalable REST APIs using Django and Django REST Framework. Architect modular Django applications covering asset inventory, vulnerability ingestion, risk and compliance workflows, policies, controls, audit logs, and user/role/access control (RBAC/ABAC). Develop complex query logic and data models optimized for PostgreSQL. Implement multi-tenant architecture with row-level permission controls. Integrate Celery and Redis for background processing tasks such as scan ingestion, report generation, and schedulers.
System Design and DevOps:
Architect backend and frontend systems focusing on scalability, maintainability, and reliability. Implement continuous integration and deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions or GitLab. Containerize applications with Docker and deploy them on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP. Establish logging, monitoring, and observability using industry-standard tools to ensure system health and performance.
AI Enablement:
Collaborate closely with AI engineers to integrate platform APIs with AI services, including internal FastAPI services or external large language models (LLMs). Work with vector databases such as pgvector or Qdrant to support AI functionalities and enhance platform intelligence.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience with React and TypeScript.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Django and Django REST Framework.
- Strong expertise in PostgreSQL, including indexes, joins, and query optimization.
- Experience with state management libraries such as Redux, Zustand, or React Query.
- Proficiency with Docker, Redis, and Celery for containerization and background task processing.
- Solid understanding of authentication protocols including OAuth2, OIDC, and SAML.
- Proven ability to design and document RESTful APIs using Swagger or OpenAPI specifications.
- Knowledge of scalable system architecture principles.
Preferred Qualifications and Additional Skills
Experience developing security or compliance platforms is highly desirable. Familiarity with vulnerability management tools like Qualys, Nessus, or Rapid7 will be an advantage. Exposure to GraphQL and microservices architecture is also preferred.
Soft Skills
A strong ownership mindset with the ability to work independently is essential. Excellent communication skills are required to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams. Candidates should demonstrate product-oriented thinking combined with strong problem-solving abilities.
