Full-Stack Software Developer – FinTech / Legal Accounting Platform

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Full-Stack Software Developer to join our Lahore office and play a pivotal role in building a new cloud-based application tailored for the UK legal and accounting sector. This is a unique opportunity to be among the first developers working on a product from inception, collaborating closely with the business owner who brings extensive expertise in legal finance and accounting. The initial focus will be on integrating financial transactions and data from legal practice management systems, enabling users to efficiently review, analyze, categorize, and process transactions. Over time, the platform will expand to include integrations with systems such as Clio, Xero, and Open Banking providers, alongside workflow automation and AI-assisted features.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop the application from the initial MVP stage through to full production.
- Build both front-end interfaces and back-end services.
- Architect a secure and scalable database system.
- Develop API integrations with third-party platforms like Clio and Xero.
- Implement functionality to import and process bank transaction data.
- Create workflows for transaction review, categorization, tagging, and allocation.
- Develop dashboards and user-friendly interfaces for finance teams and law firms.
- Build secure user authentication, permissions, and role-based access controls.
- Ensure reliable audit trails that track changes to financial information.
- Design the application with future multi-company and multi-client capabilities in mind.
- Collaborate closely with the business owner to translate accounting processes into software workflows.
- Test, document, and continuously improve the application.
- Utilize AI development tools where appropriate to enhance development speed and code quality.

Required Qualifications
- Proven practical experience in software development beyond coursework or small freelance projects.
- Proficiency in modern JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Experience with React, Next.js, or similar modern front-end frameworks.
- Backend development skills using Node.js, Python, .NET, or comparable technologies.
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL or other robust relational databases.
- Experience with REST APIs and third-party API integrations.
- Familiarity with OAuth 2.0 authentication protocols.
- Proficient with Git and GitHub for version control.
- Experience deploying applications on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Ability to build secure web applications that handle sensitive data.
- Skilled in designing database schemas and application architecture.
- Competent in debugging and maintaining production-level applications.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience in FinTech or accounting software development.
- Knowledge of Open Banking APIs, Xero API, and Clio API.
- Background in banking transaction processing and SaaS platforms.
- Understanding of multi-tenant software architecture.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
- Exposure to AI and large language model (LLM) integrations.
- Experience with automated transaction classification and financial reconciliation systems.
- Awareness of UK accounting, bookkeeping, or legal software is a plus but not required, as workflows will be provided.
