Full-Stack Software Engineer

Join a small, dynamic engineering team where you will take full ownership of features from initial ticket to production. This includes designing data models, building APIs, creating user interfaces, writing tests, and analyzing outcomes. Since much of our work directly impacts users’ finances, accuracy and quality are prioritized over speed. We seek someone who carefully reviews tasks, asks clarifying questions when needed, and writes thorough tests to ensure correct implementation. Daily use of AI coding assistants is integral to the role, so your ability to critically evaluate, test, and refine AI-generated code is just as important as your coding speed.

Key Responsibilities

- Extend the marketing website: Collaborate closely with marketing and design teams to build and enhance pages on the public website. Ensure pages are fast, responsive, accessible, and optimized for search engines.

- Build product pages end to end: Own features from concept through release, translating designs and requirements into polished front-end experiences supported by reliable backend logic.

- Extend the forecast engine: Improve the forecasting tools by enhancing their logic, calculations, accuracy, performance, and scalability as the product evolves.

- Design APIs and data models: Develop well-structured, secure, and well-documented APIs and database schemas that support current features and scale efficiently for future needs.

- Extend the AI assistant: Add new capabilities to our AI-powered assistant, focusing on improving usefulness, reliability, and user experience while adhering to data privacy and responsible AI practices.

- Integrate third-party services: Connect and maintain secure, resilient integrations with external platforms such as payments, analytics, CRM, or data providers, ensuring proper monitoring.

- Maintain a healthy codebase: Write clean, tested, and maintainable code; participate actively in code reviews; and manage technical debt effectively.

Required Qualifications

- 2 to 3 years of professional experience building and shipping web applications, with proficiency in both backend and frontend development.

- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively within a small team.

- Proficiency in Python and experience with Django or similar backend frameworks like FastAPI, Flask, or Rails.

- Strong skills in TypeScript and React; experience with Next.js is a plus.

- Solid working knowledge of SQL, including schema design, query writing, and identifying performance issues such as N+1 queries.

- Experience writing automated tests as an integral part of the development process.

- Practical experience building at least one feature that calls a large language model (LLM) API, including handling tool calls, structured outputs, and managing errors when the model produces incorrect results.

- Regular use of AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) with the ability to critically review and improve their output.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Experience working with an Object-Relational Mapper (ORM) is advantageous.
