Support the Board by providing an independent commentary on the risks the business manages and ensure timely identification and rectification of all risks.
- Develop an annual risk-based internal audit plan for the review and approval of the Audit Committee review and oversee the implementation of the approved plan by proper resourcing and oversight
- Provide leadership, mentoring and strategic guidance to the internal audit teams on an on-going basis and ensure that all changes in procedures, policies and internal audit tools are duly and effectively communicated and applied by the teams and provide continuous training to the team members.
- Ensure that team personal development steps are taken for career growth including succession planning opportunities.
- Objectively assess a company’s IT and/or business processes
- Assess the company’s risks and the efficacy of its risk management efforts
- Ensure that the organization is complying with relevant laws and statutes
- Evaluate internal control and make recommendations on how to improve
- Identifying shortfalls or gaps in processes
- Promote ethics and help identify improper conduct
- Assure safeguards
- Investigate fraud
- Communicate the findings and recommendations
- Provide an opinion (Unqualified, qualified, adverse, or disclaim)
Required
- At least 2 years’ experience in an auditing or financial controls environment
- Good understanding of finance processes, risks and controls
- Demonstrate good Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Attention to detail
- Experience of working to deadlines
- Interact at all levels with different cultures
- Have effective influencing skills
- A good team player and works well in a pressured environment
- Have the ability to adapt to a changing environment
