We are looking for a seasoned Furniture Production Manager to oversee the entire manufacturing process at our Korangi factory in Karachi. The ideal candidate will have over eight years of experience in furniture manufacturing, including at least three years in a managerial capacity. This role involves managing all aspects of production—from design handover and material planning to quality control and final delivery—ensuring that every product meets our premium standards. The Production Manager will lead multiple teams, control costs, and maintain on-time delivery schedules while fostering a productive and safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Production Planning & Operations: Develop and manage detailed production schedules based on confirmed orders and capacity. Break down projects into stages such as cutting, carpentry, assembly, polishing, upholstery, and finishing, assigning clear timelines and responsibilities. Set daily and weekly targets, monitor progress, and resolve bottlenecks by reallocating resources as needed. Maintain a live production tracker for all active orders.

- Team Leadership: Supervise Assembly Supervisors, karigars, polish and upholstery teams, and store personnel. Recruit, onboard, and train staff, focusing on skill development and succession planning. Establish KPIs for supervisors, conduct performance reviews, and address workforce issues including attendance and discipline to maintain a respectful and efficient workplace.

- Procurement & Inventory Strategy: Oversee procurement activities by approving purchase orders, evaluating vendors, and negotiating terms for timber, fabric, foam, hardware, and finishing materials. Maintain an approved supplier list with backup sources. Implement inventory policies to balance material availability with capital efficiency. Conduct regular stock audits to minimize wastage and pilferage.

- Costing & Budget Control: Collaborate with sales and design teams to prepare material and labor cost estimates. Monitor actual costs against estimates, analyze variances, and report findings. Drive cost reduction initiatives through improved material yield, reduced rework, and process enhancements. Manage the monthly production budget.

- Quality Assurance: Define quality standards and inspection points at each production stage. Ensure all products pass final quality control before dispatch, logging and correcting defects. Analyze recurring issues and implement corrective measures to improve product quality.

- Cross-Department Coordination: Work closely with design teams to assess manufacturability of drawings before production. Coordinate with sales to set realistic delivery dates and communicate any delays promptly with proposed solutions. Align procurement with upcoming project requirements.

- Delivery & Installation: Manage dispatch planning, packaging, transportation, and on-site installation. Ensure timely, damage-free deliveries and proper client handovers.

- Health, Safety & Factory Management: Enforce health and safety protocols, including machine safety, PPE use, fire safety, and safe handling of chemicals. Oversee machinery maintenance to minimize downtime. Maintain a clean, organized, and regulation-compliant factory environment.

- Reporting: Provide weekly reports to management covering production output, order status, delays, material availability, costs, and quality issues. Recommend process improvements, equipment investments, and capacity expansions as needed.

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and material specifications.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Working hours are Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
- Benefits include a fuel allowance and a performance bonus tied to on-time delivery, cost control, and quality KPIs.
- Salary is subject to per-day deductions for unapproved absences.
