GD Filer - Import & Export

UTrade Logistics is looking for a skilled GD Filer to manage import and export customs documentation and filing processes. The ideal candidate will have practical experience with customs procedures, including duty and tax calculations, SRO applications, tariff classification, and the preparation of required documentation. This role is based in Karachi and requires full-time commitment from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The salary will be determined based on the candidate’s experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and file Goods Declarations (GD) for both import and export shipments accurately.
- Manage GD filing through Pakistan Customs systems such as WeBOC and PSW.
- Review commercial invoices, packing lists, Bills of Lading (BL), Air Waybills (AWB), certificates, and other shipping documents prior to filing.
- Ensure correct HS Code classification for all imported and exported goods.
- Calculate customs duties, sales tax, income tax, regulatory duty, additional customs duty, and other applicable taxes.
- Apply relevant SROs, exemptions, concessions, and notifications as applicable to shipments.
- Verify customs valuation and assess duties before submitting GDs.
- Handle amendments, reassessments, objections, and respond to customs queries related to filed GDs.
- Coordinate with customs officials, clearing teams, operations, transporters, and customers to ensure timely clearance of shipments.
- Monitor the status of GDs and follow up on examinations, assessments, approvals, and releases.
- Maintain accurate records of all filed GDs and supporting documentation.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations and documentation requirements at all times.
- Support clearance cases involving various commodities and shipment modes.
- Assist with documentation related to Export Processing Zone (EPZ) shipments when required.
- Stay updated on changes in customs tariffs, SROs, regulatory requirements, and duty structures.

Required Qualifications
- Practical experience in GD filing for both import and export shipments is essential.
- Strong understanding of duty calculation and application of SROs.
- Good knowledge of HS Codes and customs tariff classification.
- Familiarity with customs valuation, assessment procedures, and clearance processes.
- Ability to accurately review shipping and commercial documents.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to documentation accuracy.
- Effective communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple customs cases simultaneously and meet filing deadlines.
- Experience with EPZ procedures is considered an advantage.
- Knowledge of Electronic Filing System (EFS), exemptions, regulatory requirements, or special customs regimes will be beneficial.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in customs clearance, GD filing, freight forwarding, or a related field.
- Previous work experience with customs clearing agents, freight forwarders, or logistics companies is preferred.
