General Manager Fleet

We are seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to oversee all aspects of fleet operations, ensuring efficient management and optimal utilization of vehicle assets. The role involves managing procurement, maintenance, and disposition of vehicles, while maintaining compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving profitability, improving key performance indicators, and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee and complete all fleet-related activities including vehicle procurement and disposition, inventory management, accident processing, violation tracking, fuel account management, maintenance, repairs, recalls, and warranties.
- Achieve profit and loss (P&L) targets by exercising strict monetary control over expenses and identifying new revenue opportunities.
- Monitor and improve fleet utilization, turnover, and safety KPIs to maximize operational efficiency.
- Explore and implement strategies to optimize fleet availability in alignment with company needs.
- Ensure administrative systems are properly implemented and monitored to guarantee adherence to policies and procedures.
- Review monthly scorecards, P&L statements, and KPIs to assess fleet performance.
- Serve as the primary liaison with all stakeholders involved in fleet management.
- Maximize vehicle asset utilization by deploying resources effectively to meet demand.
- Evaluate critical business needs and standard operating procedures, developing solutions to address operational challenges or procedural changes.
- Manage staff dynamics including hiring, scheduling, performance management, and succession planning.
- Lead the outsourced fleet department to achieve net revenue targets and increase volume.
- Promote customer service excellence through a strong focus on operational performance.
- Develop functional and managerial capabilities to operate effectively in diverse environments.
- Create and maintain a multi-year roadmap for the department, focusing on people, processes, and technology.
- Monitor and enhance safety, security, environmental, and quality standards.
- Ensure managerial compliance to minimize accidents and uphold safety protocols.
- Oversee driver management, including original licensing and training before vehicle deployment.
- Ensure achievement of assigned KPIs for all existing and upcoming customers.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies, as well as business ethics requirements outlined in the company’s code of conduct.

Required Qualifications

- Proven experience in fleet management or a related operational leadership role.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage P&L and control expenses.
- Demonstrated ability to improve operational KPIs such as utilization, turnover, and safety.
- Experience managing teams, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, accident management, and compliance regulations.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic plans focused on operational excellence.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing business needs.
