General Manager

Goldwish is an emerging premium family café located in Bukhari Commercial, DHA, Karachi, designed to offer quality dining alongside imaginative children’s spaces and creative activities. The café aims to create a welcoming environment where families can enjoy meaningful time together, supported by warm hospitality and exceptional service. We are looking for an experienced General Manager to lead Goldwish through its launch phase and manage daily operations. This senior, hands-on role requires overseeing the team, guest experience, café functions, children’s activities, and overall business performance. The ideal candidate will have strong operational discipline, a solid understanding of hospitality, and a commitment to children’s safety and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead all pre-opening activities including recruitment, staff training, development of operating procedures, and ensuring launch readiness.
- Oversee daily operations across the café, children’s areas, activities, and guest services to maintain smooth functioning.
- Recruit, manage, and develop the team by defining clear roles, creating effective schedules, and enforcing consistent performance standards.
- Maintain high standards of service quality, cleanliness, and food hygiene throughout the venue.
- Implement and monitor children’s safety protocols, including supervision, proper use of equipment, routine safety inspections, and incident reporting.
- Ensure all staff are trained in safeguarding, emergency response, and effective communication with parents.
- Collaborate closely with kitchen and café teams to uphold product quality, efficient service, and stock availability.
- Manage budgets, purchasing, inventory control, supplier relationships, and operating costs to optimize financial performance.
- Track sales, gather guest feedback, and analyze operational metrics; report findings and improvement plans to the founders.
- Coordinate family events, celebrations, and activity programs to enhance the guest experience.
- Address guest concerns professionally and foster lasting customer relationships.
- Oversee maintenance of equipment and facilities, ensuring timely resolution of operational issues.

Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a General Manager or in a senior operations role within hospitality, restaurants, cafés, or family entertainment venues.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to take full responsibility for venue performance.
- Strong expertise in budgeting, cost control, inventory management, and service operations.
- Experience in developing operating procedures and conducting staff training.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
- Practical knowledge of hygiene standards, children’s safety, safeguarding, and family service requirements.
- Availability to work on-site, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as needed.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience in pre-opening or launching new venues is highly advantageous.
