GL Control Officer

National Bank of Pakistan is seeking a dedicated GL Control Officer (OG-II) to join its Financial Control team based in Karachi. The ideal candidate will be a graduate with professional qualifications such as ACCA, ICMA, or CA Part Qualified, bringing over two years of relevant experience. Key Responsibilities

- Oversee and manage the general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Perform regular reconciliations of GL accounts and investigate discrepancies to maintain data integrity.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements in accordance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
- Collaborate with various departments to resolve accounting issues and support audit processes.
- Monitor and implement internal controls related to financial transactions and reporting.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities by ensuring timely and accurate recording of transactions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and banking regulations to ensure compliance.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance financial control procedures.

Required Qualifications

- A graduate degree from a recognized university.
- Professional qualifications such as ACCA, ICMA, or CA Part Qualified.
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience in financial control, accounting, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills to effectively liaise with internal stakeholders.
