Graduate Cost Engineer – O/A Levels Background

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Engineer to join our team onsite in Lahore, working the night shift to support our North American automotive clients. The ideal candidate will have strong Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to quickly adapt to customer portals used for managing quotes. This role requires excellent organizational abilities and strong written and verbal communication skills in English to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The position involves working closely with automotive suppliers who manufacture sheet metal stamped and assembled components for major vehicle manufacturers such as Honda, Ford, and Toyota.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Portal Management: Administer and maintain the customer portal, ensuring all data related to parts, materials, and customer quotes is secure, accurate, and user-friendly. Translate the internal master quote into multiple customer-specific formats, each with unique pricing calculations. Input and update new quotes, including material and scrap rates, with precision and timeliness.

Material Content Breakdown Forms (MCBFs): Create and maintain detailed MCBFs that include material data such as weight, size, and specifications for individual parts. Collect and input all necessary material information to facilitate requests for material price quotations.

Excel Analysis: Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel functions such as XLOOKUP, PivotTables, complex formulas, Macros, and VBA to analyze data, compare multiple sheets, and perform detailed cost analysis.

Cost Estimation and Control: Collaborate with engineering, quality, and project management teams to gather accurate cost data and develop cost estimates. Compare actual costs to budgeted costs, conduct variance analysis, and recommend corrective actions to maintain budget compliance. Monitor project financials and assist in cost forecasting to identify potential overruns or savings.

Continuous Improvement: Regularly update and enhance Excel-based reporting tools to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and support better decision-making. Assist in developing and implementing best practices for cost and data management processes.

Reporting and Documentation: Provide regular forecast reports to management using data from the portal. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and records.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, or a related field.

Experience: 0 to 1 year of experience in engineering, data management, or finance.

Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, data comparison, and macros.

Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze data, perform cost comparisons, identify trends, and propose effective solutions for cost forecasting and control with high attention to detail.

Communication and Teamwork: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, capable of creating clear reports and collaborating with cross-functional teams at all organizational levels.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

Working Hours: Night shift from 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM (Monday to Friday) to align with North American client schedules.

Salary: Market competitive, ranging approximately from PKR 68,880 to PKR 282,241 per month.

Benefits: Performance-based bonus awarded annually.

Location: Onsite position based in DHA Phase 8, Lahore.
