Graphic Designer

Horizon Tech is seeking an experienced Graphic Designer – Print Production to join a US-based commercial and specialty printing company as a full-time team member. This role involves working closely with the client’s production team to create high-quality print designs primarily for paper products such as business cards, flyers, brochures, and other marketing materials. The position requires managing design requests from an assigned job board, producing proofs for customer approval, and preparing final print-ready files. Flexibility and a broad range of design skills are essential, as priorities and product lines may shift over time.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Production:
- Monitor the assigned job board and manage incoming design requests from initiation to completion.
- Create designs for business cards, flyers, brochures, and other print collateral, assisting with additional product lines as needed.
- Prepare and send proofs to customers, incorporating revisions based on their feedback.
- Finalize approved designs and deliver print-ready files that precisely match the approved proofs.
- Verify size, scale, bleed, resolution, and overall usability before sending files to production.

Customer Communication:
- Communicate directly with customers, bypassing the sales team for design-related inquiries.
- Respond promptly to customer calls and emails when available.
- Reach out early to customers for clarification on project details.
- Explain design decisions, limitations, and recommendations in clear, understandable language.
- Guide customers toward solutions that align with printing capabilities.

Workflow and Deadlines:
- Deliver first drafts within 48 hours for standard projects.
- Manage time effectively and maintain focus on assigned tasks.
- Alert the team early if deadlines are at risk and collaborate to redistribute workload.
- Prevent bottlenecks that could impact sales, production, or customer satisfaction.

Quality and Organization:
- Identify and correct errors before submitting proofs or final files.
- Take full ownership of work quality to minimize rework.
- Adhere to file naming conventions and folder structures, saving files appropriately.
- Maintain an organized digital workspace, document work thoroughly, and keep software updated.

Teamwork and Growth:
- Collaborate closely with sales, design, and production teams throughout the workflow.
- Maintain professionalism and focus on solutions, even under pressure.
- Accept feedback constructively and make necessary adjustments.
- Stay current with design trends, tools, and print technologies, contributing ideas to improve team processes.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in graphic design, preferably within print production or a commercial print environment.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Strong knowledge of print file preparation, including CMYK color, bleed, trim, safe zones, resolution, and preflight checks.
- A portfolio demonstrating print work such as business cards, flyers, brochures, or similar projects.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with confidence in communicating with customers via phone and email.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a consistent track record of delivering accurate work.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Flexibility to work across various product types as required.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Details
- Experience with signage, large-format printing, promotional products, or vehicle wrap design.
- Familiarity with online proofing platforms or job-board and ticketing systems.
- Understanding of print production processes and material limitations.
- This is an on-site position with working hours from 6:00 pm to 3:00 am PKT.
- Office location is off Shahrah-e-Faisal, PECHS, Karachi.
