The Head of Legal, Corporate Affairs & IP at Hamdard Pakistan leads the legal department with comprehensive oversight of corporate legal matters, intellectual property management, and regulatory compliance. This role demands a seasoned legal expert with 15 or more years of experience, ideally within the FMCG, pharmaceutical, healthcare, manufacturing, or consumer goods sectors. The individual must demonstrate strong proficiency in corporate law, commercial disputes, regulatory affairs, and intellectual property rights. Engagement with senior management, external counsel, regulators, and government authorities is essential to effectively mitigate legal risks and facilitate informed decision-making across the companys legal and corporate affairs spectrum.
Responsibilities

Lead and develop legal strategies aligned with the organizations objectives, focusing on corporate governance, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance.
Oversee and manage all corporate legal matters including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts to minimize legal risks and ensure business efficiency.
Supervise litigation management activities, coordinating with internal teams and external legal counsel to defend or pursue legal actions appropriately.
Provide expert legal advice to senior management on regulatory affairs, compliance issues, and emerging legal risks in the industries of FMCG, pharmaceutical, healthcare, manufacturing, and consumer goods.
Manage intellectual property portfolios, including trademarks, patents, copyrights, and trade secrets to protect the companys innovations and brand identity.
Collaborate with government bodies, regulatory authorities, and Bar Council entities to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulatory policies.
Drive corporate governance initiatives ensuring adherence to legal and ethical standards throughout the organization.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing legal team of 15 members, setting clear objectives, monitoring progress, and fostering professional growth.
Establish strong relationships with external legal partners and consultancy firms to enhance legal support services.
Monitor legislative developments and industry trends to proactively address potential legal challenges and opportunities.
Implement risk management strategies to identify and mitigate legal exposures in contracts, business operations, and corporate processes.
Coordinate cross-functional legal support in transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and joint ventures as needed.
Ensure timely and efficient delivery of legal services to support business units and strategic initiatives.
Maintain robust documentation and record-keeping processes ensuring legal compliance and readiness for audits or investigations.
