HANA DBA - Consultant

We are seeking an experienced SAP HANA Administrator with 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HANA system architecture and practical expertise in installation, administration, and maintenance of SAP HANA environments. This role involves managing both single and multi-tenant databases, performing upgrades, monitoring system health, and troubleshooting performance issues. The candidate will work closely with international teams, contribute to knowledge sharing, and support technical migration projects to ensure optimal system performance and availability.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage message processing, technical incident management, service and change request handling, as well as problem management and root cause analysis.
- Perform installation, patching, and upgrade activities, including HANA version upgrades from 1.0 to 2.0 and DB client upgrades.
- Monitor system performance and tune SAP HANA databases to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Conduct backup and restore operations, including point-in-time recovery for both MDC (Multi-Database Container) and non-MDC systems, using tools like Backint in HANA Studio.
- Handle system health checks, audit log management, license application, and enable traces for performance analysis.
- Troubleshoot issues related to backup, memory, CPU utilization, and overall database performance by analyzing trace files.
- Manage user creation, role assignments, and parameter configuration changes within the HANA environment.
- Respond promptly to Priority 1 and Priority 2 incidents, providing timely and effective solutions.
- Support disaster recovery setups and ensure system availability during maintenance windows by stopping and starting HANA databases as required.
- Lead workshops and training sessions for customers and internal teams, facilitating knowledge transfer and supervising junior staff and trainees.
- Collaborate with international teams to drive global knowledge sharing and documentation.
- Plan, set up, and implement technical migration projects, continuously improving products and processes.

Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience with SAP HANA installation, administration, and system architecture.
- Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems as it relates to SAP HANA environments.
- Experience with HANA 2.0 MDC installation and administration.
- Ability to perform system upgrades, including HANA version and DB client upgrades.
- Proficiency in backup and recovery procedures, including the use of Backint and point-in-time recovery techniques.
- Skilled in troubleshooting HANA database issues through trace file analysis and performance monitoring.
- Experience managing audit logs, license applications, and enabling performance traces.
- Strong analytical skills with a customer-focused approach to problem-solving.
- Degree in business informatics, computer science, IT training, or equivalent experience with a demonstrated IT affinity.
