- This position is part time consultant required visit once a week at HLPS
- Please note that Conultant do not work with morethan three hospitals/clinics including HLPS.
- All clients check and review the treatment plan with the help of HLPS medical and psychological team.
- Conduct regular/rotational basis OPD of Psychiatry clinics in public health facilities in project locations.
- Carry out a follow up evaluation of each patient that was seen during psychiatrist consultant’s previous visits.
- The evaluation should review each patient’s diagnosis, assess whether treatment recommendations were implemented and adhered to.
- Assess efficacy of pharmacological treatment and make adjustments as necessary.
- Carry out an initial evaluation of each patient that was identified as receiving services within Happy Life Psychological Services’ Program.
- The evaluation should provide an accurate diagnosis and treatment recommendations (including pharmacological treatment) for each patient.
- Develop training materials in the identification and management (pharmacological interventions and basic psychosocial skills/interventions) of primary mental health conditions using WHO’s mhGAP Intervention Guidelines as a guide.
- Particular focus should be on those disorders that are most prevalent within the patients currently being seen within the program (i.e., epilepsy, psychosis).
- Implement base and refresher capacity building trainings for health professionals.
- Ensure that appropriate brands of psychotropic medications are available, ensure that appropriate quantities of psychotropic medications are available, provide country team with list of psychotropic medication for which a stock should be maintained at all times (provide name, dosage, quantity (for 6-month period), disorder for which it is prescribed).
- Adhere to organization Code of Conduct and internationally accepted humanitarian principles.
- Act in a respectful and culturally sensitive manner towards other colleagues & community.
