The Head Nurse plays a critical role in ensuring the effective delivery of nursing care by overseeing workforce planning, material management, and the organization of nursing activities in accordance with the policies of Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN). This position supports the Manager and Deputy Manager in managing designated areas to provide the highest standard of patient care and clinical operations. The Head Nurse is responsible for maintaining professional nursing practices, including infection control and patient safety, with a focus on continuous quality improvement. Additionally, the role involves taking a proactive lead in Primary Health Care (PHC) audits and preparing for high-profile rounds, participating as needed to uphold organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and organize nursing workforce and material resources to ensure efficient and effective nursing care delivery.
- Implement and evaluate nursing care activities in line with IHHN policies and professional nursing standards.
- Assist the Manager and Deputy Manager in managing clinical operations and patient care within assigned areas.
- Promote and enforce infection control measures and patient safety protocols to support continuous quality improvement.
- Lead and actively participate in PHC audits and preparation for high-profile rounds, ensuring readiness and compliance.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and clinical service delivery.
- Monitor nursing staff performance and provide guidance to maintain high standards of care.
- Ensure documentation and reporting are accurate and timely, supporting clinical governance and accountability.
- Foster a positive working environment that encourages professional development and teamwork among nursing staff.

Required Qualifications

- Registered Nurse with a valid nursing license.
- Proven experience in nursing management or leadership roles within a clinical setting.
- Strong knowledge of nursing care standards, infection control, and patient safety practices.
- Ability to plan, organize, and evaluate nursing activities effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with healthcare teams.
- Demonstrated capability to lead audits and quality improvement initiatives.
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards and organizational policies.
