Davis Pharmaceutical Laboratories is looking for a highly skilled and results-oriented Head of Finance & Accounts to lead its finance and accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the pharmaceutical industry combined with excellent financial and commercial expertise. This leadership role involves managing a professional finance team while ensuring financial discipline, statutory compliance, effective cash flow management, strong internal controls, and timely financial reporting. The position supports the company’s strategic and operational objectives and is based full-time on-site in Islamabad.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Finance & Accounts Department, providing guidance and mentorship to the finance team. Oversee all financial accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports. Manage cash flow, working capital, funds utilization, banking relationships, and financial planning. Ensure compliance with IFRS, taxation laws, statutory requirements, and regulatory obligations.
Oversee tax matters including income tax, sales tax, withholding tax, audits, and statutory filings. Develop and enhance financial controls, accounting policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and governance frameworks. Monitor inventory valuation, costing, stock reconciliation, and assess the financial impact of inventory movements. Lead accounts receivable management, sales recovery, collections, and receivables aging analysis.
Evaluate financial aspects of contracts, tenders, commercial agreements, pricing, and business proposals. Prepare and monitor the company’s annual budget, forecasts, financial targets, and conduct variance analysis. Identify financial, operational, and compliance risks, recommending corrective actions as necessary. Collaborate with Sales, Supply Chain, Procurement, Production, Quality Operations, HR, and other departments on financial and commercial matters.
Ensure effective use of ERP systems and coordinate finance-related ERP processes and reporting. Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, banks, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders. Provide management with financial analysis, business insights, and recommendations to support strategic decision-making. Uphold high standards of accuracy, confidentiality, accountability, and professional ethics within the finance team.
Required Qualifications
ACCA, ICMA, CA, MBA (Finance), or an equivalent professional qualification is required. Candidates must have a minimum of 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in Accounts & Finance, including at least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role such as Head of Finance or Head of Accounts & Finance. Pharmaceutical industry experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment, is mandatory.
Strong knowledge of IFRS, taxation, financial reporting, costing, budgeting, internal controls, and financial governance is essential. Demonstrated expertise in cash-flow management, working capital optimization, receivables recovery, inventory control, and financial planning is required. Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or comparable platforms is necessary. Proven leadership skills in managing, developing, and evaluating a professional finance team are expected.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, communication, and decision-making abilities are critical. The candidate must be able to work effectively with senior management and cross-functional teams.
