The Head of Finance will lead and manage all financial functions across the company, ensuring effective financial planning, budgeting, control, compliance, and strategic support. This role is vital in driving growth within the manufacturing, catering, and event management sectors by promoting financial efficiency and maintaining fiscal discipline. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with senior leadership to provide financial insights that support business expansion and diversification.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company’s overall objectives. Advise senior management on financial performance, risk management, and investment opportunities. Provide financial insights to support business growth and diversification initiatives.
Financial Planning & Analysis
Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and detailed business plans. Monitor financial performance against KPIs, budgets, and cash flow targets. Conduct variance analysis and offer timely recommendations to optimize financial results.
Accounting & Reporting
Oversee the complete accounting cycle, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and inventory management. Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Lead financial audits and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. Maintain adherence to accounting standards and internal policies.
Costing & Manufacturing Finance
Develop and manage cost accounting systems specific to manufacturing operations. Oversee product costing, margin analysis, and inventory valuation. Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising product quality.
Compliance & Governance
Ensure compliance with all tax obligations, including income tax, sales tax, and withholding tax, while maintaining effective communication with regulatory authorities. Implement and uphold strong internal controls to safeguard company assets. Manage banking relationships, treasury functions, and insurance matters.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounts team to improve skills and performance. Foster a culture focused on accuracy, timeliness, and continuous improvement within the finance function.
Required Qualifications
Proven experience in a senior financial leadership role, preferably within manufacturing, catering, or event management industries. Strong expertise in financial strategy development, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance standards. Experience managing cost accounting systems and manufacturing finance. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing finance teams. Proficiency in managing tax compliance and regulatory requirements. Excellent communication and advisory skills for collaboration with senior leadership.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
An advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or equivalent are advantageous. Experience with financial software and ERP systems relevant to manufacturing and service industries is a plus.
