Head of Quality Assurance (QA Head)

Mobilink Microfinance Bank Ltd. (MMBL) is seeking an experienced Head of Quality Assurance to lead its independent Software Quality Assurance (SQA) unit. This role oversees quality assurance efforts across critical banking platforms including Core Banking (Temenos T24), Payment Switch (IRIS), Digital Channels such as the Dost App, and custom API integrations. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing automated regression test suites integrated into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring early detection of code defects during development sprints. This leadership position plays a vital role in maintaining high-quality software releases that meet organizational standards and support MMBL’s commitment to financial inclusion through innovative digital banking solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the independent SQA team responsible for quality assurance across Core Banking, Payment Switch, Digital Channels, and API integrations.
- Architect and implement shift-left automated regression testing frameworks integrated with continuous integration and delivery pipelines to identify defects early in the development cycle.
- Conduct independent code reviews, security vulnerability assessments, and defect triage to ensure issues are resolved before candidate builds proceed to business User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Define and enforce QA gating criteria aligned with the organization’s Definition of Done (DoD) standards to maintain release quality.
- Manage SQA engineering resources, including test coverage matrices, defect density tracking, and performance and stress testing suites.
- Collaborate closely with business analysts (Pillar 3 - BA Hub) and delivery teams (Pillar 1) to validate user story acceptance criteria before production release approvals.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- A minimum of 8 to 10 years of dedicated software quality assurance and testing experience within enterprise banking environments, specifically involving Core Banking systems, Payment Switch platforms, and mobile applications.
- Advanced hands-on expertise with automated testing tools and frameworks such as Selenium, JMeter, Appium, Postman, and RestAssured.
- Deep functional knowledge of Core Banking (Temenos T24), Payment Switch ISO 8583 messaging protocols, and RESTful API architectures.
- Proficiency in Agile SQA methodologies, automated regression pipeline development, defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail), and security vulnerability scanning.
- Strong analytical skills, ability to isolate bugs effectively, and proven leadership capabilities in managing technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- ISTQB Advanced or Expert Level Certification is highly desirable.
- Practical experience working with DevOps automated deployment pipelines will be an advantage.
