Head QA - AI Native

We are seeking an experienced Head of Quality Assurance to lead and elevate the quality standards of our products. This role is responsible for overseeing the QA Engineer agent—an AI-driven system that writes and executes test cases, performs unit and regression testing, and validates that implementations meet acceptance criteria. The Head of QA will define quality gate standards to determine release readiness, focusing on automated testing processes rather than manual testing.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Standards:
- Define and enforce quality standards across all products to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality software.
- Establish automated quality gate criteria for product releases.
- Develop comprehensive test coverage requirements and testing strategies.
- Conduct quality audits and perform trend analysis to monitor product quality over time.

QA Engineer Agent Ownership:
- Own and continuously improve the QA Engineer agent’s capabilities to detect defects, write thorough tests, and validate requirements effectively.
- Define testing templates, coverage requirements, and defect classification standards to guide the AI agent’s work.
- Enhance the agent’s accuracy by reducing false positives and increasing defect detection rates.

Quality Governance:
- Resolve complex quality disputes and edge cases that the AI agent cannot address independently.
- Collaborate closely with Product Engineers to address quality issues that impact product decisions.
- Track and report key quality metrics such as defect escape rate, test coverage, and regression pass rates.
- Work with the Software Architect to align code quality with test quality standards.

Required Qualifications

- Over 10 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance with a strong background in test strategy, planning, execution, and quality management.
- Advanced expertise in test strategy, quality metrics, defect analysis, root cause investigation, regression testing, and exploratory testing.
- Hands-on experience with performance and load testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.
- Proficient in API testing using Postman, Swagger, and RESTful APIs.
- Strong SQL and database skills, including complex queries involving SELECT, JOIN, and GROUP BY operations.
- Proven ability in test documentation and test case design, preferably with tools like Qase or similar test management systems.
- Extensive experience with bug identification, tracking, triage, and reporting, ideally using JIRA.
- Skilled in UI/UX validation and using browser Developer Tools for troubleshooting and testing.
- Advanced knowledge of test automation architecture and experience designing scalable automation frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with modern automation frameworks such as Playwright.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, preferably using Bitbucket.
- Strong understanding of automated test execution, monitoring, and reporting processes.
- Proficient in Git and version control systems.
- Programming and scripting skills in Python or JavaScript for developing and maintaining automated test scripts.
- Experience configuring and managing AI-powered QA/QA Engineer agents, including workflow integration.
- Ability to assess AI agent quality, accuracy, reliability, and test outcomes.
- Strong prompt engineering skills tailored to QA and test automation.
- Demonstrated experience in team management, technical mentoring, and coaching QA engineers.
- Proven ability to optimize QA processes, improve testing efficiency, and drive continuous improvement.
- Good understanding of software development concepts and technologies, including HTML, JavaScript, and PHP.
- Excellent quality reporting and stakeholder communication skills, capable of conveying technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, and Development teams.
- Advanced English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a proactive approach to quality assurance.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Experience with AI-powered development and testing tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Codex, or Antigravity is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Claude (Anthropic) is a strong plus.
