The Factory Remediation Financing Coordinator is a team member of the Remediation Department at the Pakistan Accord’s office in Karachi and Lahore. The Factory Remediation Financing Coordinator will report to the Pakistan Accord Remediation Department Manager and work closely with the International Accord Deputy Director and Policy & Accountability Coordinator (the Remediation Financing Team). The Factory Remediation Financing Coordinator will be responsible for the communication and coordination with and between Accord-covered factories, the responsible Accord brands, the Pakistan and International Accord Secretariats and their relevant departments. Responsibilities will include supporting a factory’s remediation process, development of factory finance plans to cover remediation costs and factory requests for financial support from responsible brands.

Duties and Responsibilities

General

  • Oversee and coordinate the Pakistan Accord remediation process for assigned factories from initial inspection to CAP completion, and in particular the development of factory finance plans.

  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination between brands, factories, workers, and the relevant Accord staff related to inspections, CAP implementation, and financing remediation.

  • Update factory-by-factory data related to inspections and financing remediation for Accord management in a timely manner according to policies, protocols, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of the Pakistan Accord.

  • Support data management and processes related to inspection and financing remediation monitoring, including case management tools and trackers.

  • Perform any other duties as delegated by the Remediation Department Manager and senior management of the International Accord and the Pakistan Accord.

CAP & Remediation Implementation

  • Ensure that regular CAP updates are submitted by assigned factories to the Accord within the set timelines.

  • Ensure inspection reports, Corrective Action Plans (CAPs), and all other relevant documents and data are uploaded into the Accord database.

  • Coordinate with the Engineering Departments on any technical questions from factories related to remediation requirements and timelines.

  • Coordinate and follow up with the Engineering Departments to ensure timely production and dissemination of the inspection reports, CAPs, fire, electrical, and structural design and drawing and escalation related documents.

Financing Remediation

  • Coordinate and follow up with factories to obtain the required documentation for the development of factory finance plans and processing of factory finance requests, and ensure these are accurate, complete, and submitted in a timely manner.

  • Analyze the financing documentation and other relevant documents submitted by a factory in support of its request for remediation financing.

  • Coordinate with the Engineering Departments on any queries relating to factory CAP costing.

  • Work closely with the International Accord Secretariat on the processing of factory finance plans, factory finance requests, and reporting requirements.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's / Master's in Business and Accounting or other relevant discipline.

  • 4-6 years experience reviewing balance sheets, order books, and financial audits, preferably those of garment factories or other related industries.

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel.

  • Experience working with data management systems.

  • Excellent written and spoken English. Working proficiency in Urdu is preferable.

  • Ability to work in a team environment and coordinate with various teams.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of the textile and garment industry / supply chain.

  • Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety in the workplace.

  • Knowledge of audits and inspections.
