This position demands a detail-oriented professional who can maintain precise records and shipment reports while resolving import-related issues by liaising with customs authorities. Experience with SAP operations for inventory and warehouse documentation adds significant value to this role.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end import operations for machinery, spare parts, and industrial equipment to ensure timely delivery and compliance.
- Coordinate communication and negotiations with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, and clearing agents to streamline the import process.
- Prepare, verify, and maintain accurate import documentation, including Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, Air Waybill, Certificate of Origin, Letters of Credit, and Import Forms.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant customs regulations and international trade laws to prevent delays or penalties.
- Track shipments rigorously and provide regular status updates to relevant stakeholders to enable efficient operational planning.
- Coordinate with banking institutions regarding letters of credit, telegraphic transfers, and other import-related financial documentation.
- Arrange for transportation and logistics from the point of import at the port to the warehouse, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Monitor and control import-related costs including duties, freight charges, and associated logistics expenses to optimize operational budget.
- Maintain comprehensive import records and prepare detailed shipment reports to support audit and operational needs.
- Act as the liaison with customs authorities to resolve any import-related issues that may arise during clearance.
- Collaborate closely with warehouse and procurement teams to ensure the timely receipt and quality verification of imported goods, supporting continuous supply chain operations.
- Use SAP software to manage inventory and maintain accurate documentation related to import processes and warehouse management.
