Home School Teacher

The Home School Teacher position at Metaviz is a full-time, on-site role located in Park View, VA. The teacher will be responsible for designing and delivering a structured, age-appropriate curriculum across core subjects including mathematics, language arts, science, and social studies. Instruction will be tailored to meet individual learning needs, ensuring each student receives personalized support. Daily duties encompass lesson planning, direct instruction, assigning and grading work, as well as monitoring academic progress through regular assessments and detailed reporting.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with educational standards and student needs.
- Deliver direct instruction in core K–12 subjects while adapting teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
- Assign, evaluate, and provide constructive feedback on student work to foster academic growth.
- Track and document student progress through assessments and maintain comprehensive reports.
- Integrate educational technology tools to enhance learning experiences and engagement.
- Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills within the learning environment.
- Maintain an organized, safe, and inclusive classroom atmosphere that supports student well-being.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to discuss educational goals, progress, and any concerns.
- Collaborate with families to support the student’s social and emotional development alongside academic growth.

Required Qualifications
- Strong instructional skills across core K–12 subjects, including expertise in lesson planning, curriculum development, and student assessment.
- Ability to differentiate instruction effectively to support diverse learning styles and needs.
- Proficiency with educational technology tools, online learning resources, and basic productivity software such as Google Workspace or Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with parents or guardians.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage daily schedules, instructional materials, and student documentation.
- Experience in homeschooling, tutoring, or classroom teaching is highly advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field is preferred. Teaching certification or relevant professional training is considered a plus.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and supportive learning environment for all students.
