NJV School Management Board is looking for a responsible and compassionate Hostel Warden with a nursing background to oversee the well-being and safety of students residing in the hostel. The ideal candidate will ensure a secure and disciplined environment while providing basic healthcare support as needed. This role requires a caring individual who can effectively manage student welfare, maintain health records, and respond promptly to emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor students during hostel hours to ensure their safety and adherence to rules.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and disciplined environment within the hostel premises.
- Enforce hostel rules, routines, and daily schedules consistently.
- Monitor students’ health, hygiene, and overall well-being on a regular basis.
- Provide basic first aid and immediate medical care when necessary.
- Identify any health concerns and coordinate with parents, school administration, or medical professionals as required.
- Keep detailed records of students’ health issues, medication administration, incidents, and emergencies.
- Administer medication properly according to authorized instructions.
- Track attendance, movement, and daily activities of students residing in the hostel.
- Address students’ concerns and offer appropriate guidance and emotional support.
- Report any behavioral, disciplinary, health, or safety issues promptly to management.
- Collaborate with hostel staff and school administration to ensure student welfare.
- Respond effectively to medical and other emergencies within the hostel.
- Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and basic safety standards are maintained at all times.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding students’ personal, health, and family information.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a relevant nursing qualification.
- Valid nursing registration or license is preferred.
- 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in nursing, student care, hostel management, school healthcare, or a similar role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- Demonstrated responsibility, patience, and empathy in handling student welfare.
- Ability to remain calm and act responsibly during emergencies.
- Good observation skills along with accurate record-keeping and organizational abilities.
- Willingness to work according to hostel schedules and operational requirements.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Previous experience working with children or students is an advantage.
- Experience in hostel or residential management will be highly preferred.
