An IT Assistant provides hands-on and remote support for users, manages IT infrastructure, and ensures efficient communication across departments — including supporting remote meetings with UK teams, managing VoIP systems, maintaining CCTV/security cameras, and assisting with remote desktop tools like AnyDesk.
Key Responsibilities
Provide Level 1 support for staff on IT hardware and software issues.
Use AnyDesk, TeamViewer, or other tools to provide remote support to local and UK-based staff.
Troubleshoot common PC, printer, network, and software issues.
Set up and support live video meetings (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet) with UK departments.
Ensure webcams, microphones, and meeting room equipment are properly configured.
Troubleshoot audio/video issues before and during live sessions.
Install, configure, and maintain VoIP phone systems (e.g., 3CX, Zoiper, Avaya).
Support users with call setup, voicemail, headset connections, and call quality issues.
Troubleshoot internal and external communication problems.
Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot CCTV surveillance systems.
Set up new camera installations and ensure recording and backup functions are active.
Work with external vendors when needed for advanced camera configurations.
Maintain internal LAN/WAN networks and assist with router/switch setup.
Troubleshoot network downtime, slow speeds, or device disconnections.
Assist remote staff with VPN and secure remote access.
Manage user accounts, passwords, and access controls (e.g., Active Directory, Office 365).
Monitor for potential security threats and report incidents.
Ensure antivirus and firewall systems are updated.
Help perform scheduled data backups and restore files as needed.
Monitor backup systems for errors or failures.
Maintain up-to-date records of IT assets (PCs, phones, cameras).
Log technical issues and resolutions for internal tracking.
Document step-by-step guides for users and internal use.
