The Principal at Human Development Foundation plays a critical leadership role, overseeing all academic, administrative, and operational functions of the school. This position requires a committed individual with at least three years of experience to provide instructional leadership, foster a culture of collaboration among teachers, and steer continuous improvement efforts to enhance student learning outcomes. The Principal is accountable for designing and implementing a strategic School Development Plan aligned with the institution's mission and vision, managing recruitment and appraisal processes, and ensuring a safe, well-maintained learning environment. Managing a dedicated team of 10 staff members, the Principal drives collective efforts to achieve educational excellence and sustainable growth.
This role demands a hands-on approach to budget management, resource procurement, and compliance with school regulations and policies. The Principal leads efforts to maintain comprehensive records and supervise all aspects of school operations, ensuring that the faculty and students thrive within a positive and disciplined educational atmosphere. By nurturing professional development and effective communication across staff and stakeholders, the Principal facilitates a supportive and dynamic school community focused on academic success and character development.
Responsibilities
- Provide instructional leadership by guiding teachers in implementing effective teaching strategies that align with the schools educational goals.
- Foster a collaborative environment where educators can share best practices and engage in continuous professional development through workshops and training sessions.
- Develop and oversee the implementation of the School Development Plan (SDP), ensuring alignment with the school's mission, vision, and core values.
- Lead recruitment and selection processes for teaching and administrative staff, collaborating with HR and relevant management personnel to ensure alignment with educational objectives.
- Design and enforce a comprehensive staff appraisal system that encourages professional growth and recognizes achievements through regular evaluations and feedback.
- Manage the procurement strategy for educational resources, technology, and materials, ensuring quality, value, and inventory control.
- Develop, monitor, and manage the schools budget, allocating resources efficiently to support academic programs, staff development, and student initiatives.
- Ensure proper maintenance of school facilities, equipment, and learning environments to provide a safe and conducive atmosphere for all stakeholders.
- Implement enrollment strategies to maintain optimum student-to-classroom seating ratios and manage student discipline by fostering positive character development and prioritizing safety.
- Supervise the maintenance of all essential school records, including attendance registers, appraisal files, financial documentation, and organizational policies for accountability and transparency.
- Promote compliance with educational regulations and policies while encouraging a positive and disciplined school culture devoid of corporal punishment.
- Lead and manage a team of 10 staff members, providing mentorship, setting performance expectations, and fostering teamwork towards achieving institutional goals.
