HVAC ENGINEER FOR RIYADH

DAAD Global LLC is looking for a skilled HVAC Engineer to lead the execution of HVAC projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role involves overseeing projects from design review through testing, commissioning, and final handover. The successful candidate will manage technical submittals, coordinate with consultants and clients, control site execution, and monitor costs to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications. The position requires working both on-site and in the office, reporting directly to the CEO.

Key Responsibilities

Design Review & Engineering:
Review HVAC drawings, specifications, and BOQs at the start of each project. Verify heat load calculations, equipment selection, and duct/pipe sizing using AutoCAD. Prepare value-engineering proposals and suggest alternative equipment options. Identify any design gaps or clashes prior to execution.

Technical Submittals & Approvals:
Prepare material submittals, technical data sheets, and compliance statements. Coordinate the preparation of shop drawings and as-built drawings. Respond promptly to consultant comments and ensure their closure. Maintain a live submittal log to track approval status.

Procurement Support:
Prepare material take-offs and purchase requests. Evaluate supplier quotations from both technical and commercial perspectives. Liaise with suppliers for VRF systems, chillers, packaged units, ducting, and insulation. Ensure timely delivery of materials that meet approved specifications.

Site Execution & Coordination:
Plan project execution and set weekly work targets for the HVAC Supervisor. Coordinate activities with civil, electrical, and plumbing teams. Conduct regular site inspections and raise inspection requests with the consultant. Manage variations and document all site instructions thoroughly.

Testing, Commissioning & Handover:
Supervise pressure testing, vacuum testing, air balancing, and system commissioning activities. Prepare testing and commissioning reports, operation and maintenance manuals, and handover documentation. Coordinate snag closure and facilitate final acceptance by the client.

Cost & Progress Reporting:
Prepare monthly progress reports and progress invoices. Monitor actual costs against the budget and highlight any overruns early. Submit structured weekly reports to management to ensure transparency and timely decision-making.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in HVAC project execution
- Hands-on experience with VRF, split/ducted, packaged, and chilled water systems
- Working knowledge of ASHRAE and SMACNA standards
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel
- Strong written and spoken English; Arabic language skills are an advantage

Performance KPIs
- Achieve a submittal first-time approval rate of at least 80%
- Ensure 90% or higher on-time achievement of project milestones
- Maintain material wastage and rework below 3% of the project cost
- Submit monthly invoices on time, with 100% compliance
- Maintain 100% compliance with weekly reporting requirements
- Achieve zero major non-conformance reports (NCRs) from consultants
