IB Consulting, a global law firm is currently seeking a Financial Applications Developer to join our winning team. As a Financial Applications Developer you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining financial and accounting applications. You will be expected to establish and maintain high standards of accuracy and reliability in financial applications and financial reporting. The Financial Applications Developer will work closely with the Financial Development Senior Manager, Supervisor of Business Applications, Financial Developers, System Administrators, Project Analysts and various support and functional teams to ensure that the financial applications and financial reports are developed and implemented at their expected levels, while accomplishing these and other critical functions:
- Participating in consultations with financial development and finance/accounting team members regarding system requirements and functionality.
- Designing and developing recommended solutions to financial application and reporting issues.
- Coding, testing and debugging financial application systems according to specifications.
- Producing prototypes during various stages of development as required.
- Assisting with the evaluation and recommendation of new financial application software and upgrades.
- Assisting with the testing, documentation and maintenance of financial applications and financial reporting.
- Maintaining financial applications after implementation including user support and software upgrades.
- Troubleshooting and resolving problems and issues with financial development projects and software customizations.
- Staying abreast of new technologies and participating in training to develop new skillsets as new technology is introduced into the firm.
The Financial Applications Developer will have knowledge of data warehousing concepts and processes. A strong candidate will be proficient in systems analysis and design methods, and will have strong analytical skills needed to accomplish the primary duties of the position, including comprehending and communicating data. A Financial Applications Developer will have demonstrated the ability to think creatively and provide strategic support to senior management and will thrive in a team environment with a customer service focus by displaying a positive, high-energy attitude. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Accounting/Finance, or a related field is required along with three (3) to five (5) years of experience with financial systems and applications development. Proficiency with reporting tools such as Active Reports, Business Objects, and Tableau is a plus. Strong experience using relational databases, such as SQL, and with data modeling, customization and data conversion is required. Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in the development of financial applications in web, client server, and n-tiered environments using ASP.net, C# and VB.net is required.
