UNDP Pakistan is looking for a skilled ICT Associate to support its ongoing digital transformation within the Country Office. This position plays a crucial role in delivering ICT services, managing technology infrastructure, and providing technical support to improve operational efficiency and program implementation. The ICT Associate will work closely with internal teams and regional offices to address complex ICT challenges, ensuring that ICT strategies align with UNDP’s mission of sustainable development and inclusive growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement ICT strategies and introduce new technologies while adhering to corporate standards, guidelines, and procedures.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for ICT services and contribute to annual ICT planning activities.
- Conduct market research to assist in the procurement of ICT equipment by providing technical specifications and evaluating bids.
- Ensure business continuity through effective disaster recovery planning and processes.
- Support ERP system functionality to enhance business outcomes and client services.
- Provide ICT support for key events, ensuring all hardware and software operate smoothly.
- Perform technical maintenance tasks, including hardware repairs and software upgrades installation.
- Assist in automation and digitalization efforts across operations and programs, including software tool development and evaluation.
- Identify opportunities to transform business processes into web-based systems to improve efficiency.
- Monitor and manage network connections, safeguard against cyber threats, and maintain backup procedures.
- Respond promptly to user inquiries related to network access and troubleshoot network issues effectively.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of ICT supplies in coordination with Administration and Procurement teams.
- Promote knowledge sharing by organizing ICT training sessions and contributing to knowledge networks.
- Carry out additional duties as needed to support the smooth functioning of the office.
Required Qualifications
- Secondary education (12th grade) complemented by formal IT training in systems, business software, or web-based applications; certifications such as CCNA, MSCA, MSCE, or MCP are advantageous.
- Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related fields is desirable but not mandatory.
- At least 6 years of relevant experience with secondary education or 3 years with a bachelor’s degree, covering network administration, technical support for hardware/software, cloud ERP environments, and telecommunications.
- Experience in user-centered design, user research, and testing methodologies.
- Knowledge of database management systems like MSSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware and software installation and maintenance.
- Fluency in both English and Urdu is required.
Preferred Qualifications and Additional Information
- Experience working with development sector organizations, UN agencies, or their partners is preferred.
- Competencies include results-based management, client satisfaction, data-driven decision-making, digital literacy, IT customer support, network and infrastructure management, and business analysis.
