IELTS & PTE Instructor

We are seeking an experienced IELTS/PTE Trainer to join our team and deliver high-quality test preparation classes for students aiming to study abroad. The role involves teaching IELTS and PTE courses, with optional training for TOEFL, Duolingo, and Oxford ELLT exams. The trainer will conduct classroom sessions, one-on-one coaching, and mock tests, guiding students to achieve their target band scores through personalized support and effective teaching strategies.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver structured preparation classes for IELTS and PTE covering all four modules: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.
- Design and regularly update lesson plans, practice materials, and mock tests that reflect the latest exam formats and requirements.
- Conduct frequent mock tests and provide detailed, actionable feedback to help students improve their performance.
- Identify individual student weaknesses and offer tailored coaching to enhance their band scores.
- Track and maintain records of student progress and performance.
- Stay informed about updates in IELTS and PTE exam formats, scoring criteria, and best teaching practices.
- Collaborate with the counselling team to ensure students’ test schedules align with their application and visa deadlines.
- Support promotional activities such as demo sessions and open house workshops when required.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree is mandatory; a Master’s degree in English, Linguistics, or a related field is preferred.
- At least 2 years of direct experience as an IELTS and/or PTE trainer; candidates without specific test-prep training experience will not be considered.
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken, with strong pronunciation and grammar skills.
- Deep understanding of IELTS and PTE exam formats, scoring bands, and assessment criteria.
- Proven success in helping students reach their target band scores.
- Strong classroom management and presentation abilities.
- Patient and encouraging teaching style, adaptable to students with varying levels of proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Certification in IELTS/PTE training or TEFL/CELTA is highly desirable.
- Experience in training for additional English proficiency tests such as TOEFL, Duolingo English Test, or Oxford ELLT is an advantage.
- Prior work experience at an IDP, British Council-affiliated center, or education consultancy is preferred.
