We are looking for a competent Import Clearance Agent to manage the entire customs clearance process for import shipments at Port Qasim, Karachi. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with customs documentation and be proficient in using the PSW system. This role requires effective coordination with port authorities, shipping lines, and other stakeholders to ensure shipments are cleared on time and in full compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the import clearance process from the preparation of documents to the final delivery of goods. File Goods Declarations (GD) accurately using the PSW system to ensure timely clearance of shipments. Liaise with customs agents, shipping lines, and terminal staff to facilitate the smooth release of cargo. Calculate and verify customs duties, taxes, and tariffs in line with Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) guidelines. Ensure strict adherence to Pakistan Customs regulations and import policies at all times. Maintain precise and updated records of all import shipments and related clearance documentation. Provide regular shipment updates to clients and internal teams, ensuring clear communication. Organize and manage inspections, addressing and resolving any issues or discrepancies that may arise during the clearance process.
Required Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Commerce, Supply Chain, or Business. Candidates must have 4 to 5 years of proven experience in import customs clearance, ideally within a Clearing & Forwarding or Logistics company. Strong familiarity with the PSW/WeBOC system and import documentation procedures is essential. Excellent coordination, communication, and follow-up skills are necessary to succeed in this role. A solid understanding of HS codes, duty structures, and customs valuation methods is also required.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Preference will be given to candidates who can reliably commute to Port Qasim or are willing to relocate; relocation assistance may be provided. The position offers a competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs. 100,000 to Rs. 150,000. Additional benefits include pick and drop services, performance bonuses, and other employee perks.
