Pakistan Single Window (PSW) is recruiting on behalf of the National Agri-Trade and Food Safety Authority (NAFSA), a strategic national initiative aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s agri-trade ecosystem. NAFSA focuses on enhancing regulatory oversight, facilitating trade, and modernizing food safety and trade processes. The successful candidate will join NAFSA’s foundational team and play a key role in developing systems, processes, and institutional capabilities to support these objectives.
Key Responsibilities
The role involves conducting plant pest surveillance and monitoring activities across farms, nurseries, markets, storage areas, and other approved locations, following established programmes and standard operating procedures (SOPs). The candidate will be responsible for collecting official samples of plants, plant products, pests, and related materials for diagnostic analysis, ensuring proper chain of custody and documentation throughout the process.
Supporting diagnostic coordination is a critical task, which includes handling samples correctly, dispatching them, following up on results, and maintaining accurate diagnostic records. The candidate will inspect registered and applicant plant-related businesses such as nurseries, packhouses, warehouses, and treatment providers to verify compliance with approval conditions and regulatory requirements.
Additionally, the role requires supporting audits and verification exercises by preparing field verification reports and documenting compliance observations. Maintaining precise records of field inspections, surveillance, sampling, and compliance activities is essential, including timely data entry into prescribed databases and information systems.
Participation in delimiting surveys, emergency response actions, and verification missions will be expected as directed by supervisors. The candidate must uphold professional conduct, integrity, and confidentiality, ensuring adherence to relevant laws, rules, SOPs, and international phytosanitary principles. Other responsibilities may be assigned by the reporting officer to support NAFSA’s mandate.
