Wise, a global technology company dedicated to simplifying international money movement, is seeking an Internal Audit India Lead to join its expanding Internal Audit team in Hyderabad. This role involves leading the internal audit function across multiple legal entities in India, including Wise Payments Limited. The position offers the opportunity to manage and coordinate audit processes in a dynamic environment, focusing on data-driven audit techniques and continuous monitoring. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the Internal Audit operations and methodology both regionally and globally.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the internal audit process across Wise’s India entities, covering both global and regional processes.
- Support the implementation and operation of the internal audit assurance framework, including continuous monitoring and automated audit routines.
- Contribute to delivering an aligned assurance model across Wise, with a focus on the APAC region.
- Manage the annual audit plan, including updating the audit universe, risk assessments, and budgeting.
- Build and support a strong, self-sufficient internal audit team locally and globally.
- Oversee timely delivery of audit plans and ensure relevant audit outcomes.
- Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations, measure effectiveness, and report to oversight committees.
- Develop trusted relationships internally and externally, including with the Board and local regulators, acting as a trusted advisor.
- Promote a strong control culture and drive meaningful assurance programs.
- Strategically lead teams through audit programs, business partnering, and change management initiatives.

Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in risk, control, or assurance roles within technology, fintech, or financial services industries.
- Working knowledge of India or APAC regulatory frameworks and requirements.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of complex issues, and make sound judgments with minimal guidance.
- Strong coordination skills with the ability to hold teams accountable for deadlines and quality deliverables.
- Experience using data analytics and technology in audit and decision-making processes.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of summarizing key messages clearly and adapting style based on the audience.
- Demonstrated ability to drive change, improve processes, and support stakeholders effectively.
- Strong relationship-building skills across all organizational levels and external partners.
- Experience managing audit plans, including planning, staffing, delivery, and reporting of multiple engagements.
- Direct interaction experience with Boards and Regulators, providing clear and relevant communications.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Strong experience working with regulators such as the FCA.
- Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIA, or CISA.
