One of our JICA’s GRACE project is looking for 2 Community Mobilizers (1 female and 1 male) who will station in Mulia Ali UC, Sukkur district, Sindh and 2 Community Mobilizers (1 female and 1 male) who will station in Burgo UC, Khairpur district, Sindh.

GRACE means “Project for Gender Responsive Actions to Ensure Retention through Community Engagement and School Practices (GRACE)” and it aims at introducing activities to improve the retention of girls’ and boys’ students in primary education in Sindh Province (Sukkur and Khairpur districts) through involving communities and improving quality of education focusing on mathematics.

This project has just started on the basis of the record of discussions (R/D) signed on November 17, 2021, by three parties: Economic Affairs Division, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Government of Pakistan (EAD); School Education, School Education and Literacy Department, Government of Sindh (SELD); and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). SELD is the implementing organization and JICA dispatches Japanese experts (JICA experts) for technical cooperation.

Community Mobilizers will work mainly for coordination between the community and the school, to promote community participation in school improvement and school activities, under JICA GRACE Team’s supervision, so residents in the target UCs (Mulia Ali UC, Sukkur district and Burgo UC, Khairpur district) will be preferable. Education background more than matriculation, at least 2-year field experience as community mobilizer, and respect for the community and its local culture are required. Training experiences as community mobilizers by NGO or the university will be considered as plus element.

Excellent Sindh language capacity and PC and internet skills such as use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, WhatsApp and Zoom are must, but English capacity is preferrable (both in speaking and in writing). Having good communication and human networking skills with the community people are also important.

The Project is seeking for Pakistani candidates who fill the post of 2 Community Mobilizers (1 female and 1 male) who will station in Mulia Ali UC (and near UC), Sukkur, Sindh and 2 Community Mobilizers (1 female and 1 male) who will station in Burgo UC (and neighbor UC), Khairpur, Sindh. who works under supervision of JICA experts in Karachi or Sukkur from August 2022 to July 2023.  If you are short-listed, we will ask an online interview with you.
