We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized International Payroll & Operations Specialist to support payroll and payment operations for a growing global workforce. This role involves coordinating payroll inputs, contractor payments, reconciliations, worker lifecycle activities, and compliance processes across multiple countries, systems, and external partners. The ideal candidate will have experience in payroll, payments, finance, or workforce operations, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workflows in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Support payroll and payment processing across various countries and jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Coordinate with external payroll providers, payment partners, and internal teams to manage payroll inputs such as hours, rates, deductions, bonuses, invoices, and terminations.
- Process weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly contractor payouts, validating payment amounts, currencies, and methods.
- Investigate and resolve payroll or payment discrepancies, delays, and failed transactions.
- Reconcile payroll and payment records against invoices, timesheets, system records, and supporting documentation.
- Maintain accurate payroll, payment, and worker records, supporting audits, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
- Prepare operational reports and assist with data validation and analysis.
- Support worker onboarding, offboarding, and lifecycle changes impacting payroll and payments.
- Maintain accurate worker information across internal systems and third-party platforms.
- Assist with contractor verification, KYC, tax documentation, and other compliance-related processes.
- Manage operational workflows related to employees, contractors, EOR/AOR arrangements, and global workforce administration.
- Identify process gaps, operational risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Serve as a point of contact for payroll and payment inquiries, coordinating with Finance, Operations, Customer Support, Compliance, and external providers.
- Communicate payroll and payment requirements clearly to stakeholders and escalate complex issues for timely resolution.
- Work across payroll platforms, payment systems, ERP systems, and internal tools.
- Support implementation of new payment methods, providers, and system enhancements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and increased operational efficiency.
- Assist with process documentation, system clean-up, and ad hoc operational projects.

Required Qualifications

- 2 to 5 years of experience in payroll, payments operations, accounts payable, finance operations, HR operations, or workforce operations.
- Experience supporting international or multi-country payroll or payment processes.
- Proven ability to handle high-volume transactions with strong attention to detail.
- Strong reconciliation and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, including Pivot Tables and lookup functions.
- Experience working with payroll, payment, ERP, or financial systems.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Experience with global contractor payments or payroll operations.
- Familiarity with EOR/AOR or global payroll providers.
- Knowledge of payment providers such as Wise, Payoneer, Stripe, ACH, wire transfers, or digital wallets.
- Understanding of multi-currency payments and basic foreign exchange considerations.
- Experience with ERP systems like NetSuite, SAP, or similar platforms.
- Background in a high-growth or scaling environment.
- Skills in process improvement, automation, or documentation.
- Basic understanding of international payroll and payment compliance requirements.
